The best way to make money playing music is, of course, to be a world-famous player who gets played a fortune for each concert, but if that seems to be out of reach (yet), you must know that there are other ways to make money as a musician. Here are some:

  • -Busking – playing in the street is a great way to improve your playing skills, to become a better performer and to make some money, too. Don’t expect to make a fortune out of playing in your town’s main street, but it will increase your chances of getting noticed;
  • -Playing at parties – wedding receptions and birthday parties are great examples, all you need is a suitable repertoire and some advertising;
  • -Create your own music and sell it – make your music available through various platforms, including social media and also try to approach record labels that specialize in the style of music that you play;
  • -Play in pubs or bars – don’t expect too much money to come out of these gigs in the beginning, but if the audience likes your music, you will get more and more opportunities to play and money will eventually start coming, too.
